Weekend Street Closures – May 19 – 20

The 145th Street Bridge over the Harlem River will be closed 12:01am to 7am Saturday and Sunday to facilitate testing operations. Motorists should use the Macombs Dam or Madison Avenue Bridge as an alternate.

Two of three lanes of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway northbound between Atlantic Avenue and Cadman Plaza West may be closed 5am to 8am Saturday and one of three lanes closed 8am to 10am Sunday to facilitate underdecking bridge inspection.

The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, May 19:
* Christopher Street between 7th Avenue South and Hudson Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the Christopher Street Block & Merchants Association Festival. * Astor Place between Broadway and Lafayette Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the Village Crosstown Trolley Festival.
* Avenue of the Americas between West 42nd Street and West 56th Street in Manhattan will be closed Saturday from 11am to 6pm for the Forum’s Children Foundation Festival.
* The following streets in Manhattan will be closed 2pm-6pm for the Dance Parade: Broadway from 32nd Street to Union Square West; south on Union Square West to University Place; south on University Place to 13th Street; west on 13th Street to 5th Avenue; south on 5th Avenue to Washington Square North.
* The following streets in Manhattan will be closed noon-3pm for the Turkish American Day Parade: Madison Avenue from 56th Street to 47th Street; east on 47th Street to Second Avenue at Dag Hammarskjold Park.
* Church Avenue between Flatbush Avenue and East 16th Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the CAMBA Church Avenue BID.
* Graham Avenue between Broadway & Boerum Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the Graham Avenue BID Fest.

Ninth Avenue between West 37th Street and West 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm for the Ninth Avenue International Food Festival.

The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, May 20:
* Bleecker Street between Bank Street and Christopher Street will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the Greenwich Village Youth Council Festival.
* East 35th Street between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue in Manhattan will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the Murray Hill
Neighborhood Association.
* Amsterdam Avenue between West 77th Street and West 90th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the Amsterdam Avenue Festival.
* 5th Avenue from 61st Street to 86th Street in Manhattan will be closed noon-5pm for the 369th Vets Association/Martin L. King Jr.
Parade.
* Grand Concourse between Burnside Avenue and 167th Street in the Bronx will be closed from 1pm to 7pm for the Bronx Puerto Rican Day Parade.
* Emmons Avenue between Ocean Avenue & E. 28th Street in Brooklyn will be closed 11am-6pm for the Bay Improvement Group Bay Fest.
* 5th Avenue between Sterling Avenue & 12th Street in Brooklyn will be closed 11am-6pm for the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Merchants Fest.

Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s
Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
