Weekend Street Closures – June 30 – July 1

One tube of the Battery Park Underpass between Joe DiMaggio Highway and the FDR Drive will be fully closed (usually southbound Joe DiMaggio to FDR) Sunday nights to Friday mornings from 10pm to 5am to install electrical conduit by NY State DOT until the end of July.

One lane of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be maintained in each direction from 11:30pm Friday to 10am Saturday to facilitate MTA
paving operations. This work will occur Friday night (into Saturday morning). Two of three lanes of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway northbound between Atlantic Avenue and Cadman Plaza West may be closed 5am to 8am and one of three lanes closed 8am to 10am Sunday to facilitate under decking bridge inspection by NYCDOT.

One of two lanes of the Whitestone Expressway over the Flushing River may be closed from the Astoria Boulevard approach to the northbound Expressway, north of the Linden Place exit, from 8pm Friday to 4pm Saturday. This portion of roadway may be completely closed for approximately three hours between 12:01am and 6am Saturday to facilitate NY State DOT steel erection work.

The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, June 30:
* Bleecker Street between 6th Avenue and Broadway in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Bleecker Area Merchants & Residents Festival.
* Madison Avenue from East 104th Street to East 116th Street, East 116th Street to Pleasant Avenue, and Pleasant Avenue to East 120th Street in Manhattan will be closed Noon-2:30pm for the Gouvemeur Parents Association.

The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, July 1:
* Christopher Street between Greenwich Avenue and 7th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the AHRPL Festival.
* Flatbush Avenue between Parkside Avenue and Cortelyou Road in Brooklyn will be closed 11am-6pm for the Flatbush Avenue BID Festival.

Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
