Two of three lanes of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway northbound between Atlantic Avenue and Cadman Plaza West may be closed 5am-8am and one of three lanes closed 8am-10am Sunday to facilitate underdecking bridge inspection by NYCDOT. The 145th Street Bridge will be completely closed to traffic and pedestrians from 10pm Friday to 9am Sunday to accommodate the installation of waterproofing and the placement of pavement. Motorists and pedestrians will be able to use the Macombs Dam Bridge or Madison Avenue Bridge.
The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, June 2:
* Washington Square North between 6th Avenue & University Place in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Caring Community Fest.
* Lexington Avenue between 42nd Street & 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the 17th Precinct Community Council Festival.
* 152nd Street between Jackson Avenue & Union Avenue in the Bronx will be closed 11am-6pm for the Puerto Rican Festival.
University Place between 3rd Street & 12th Street in Manhattan will be closed on Saturday and Sunday 11am-6pm for the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit.
The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, June 3:
* Madison Avenue from 40th Street to 27th Street in Manhattan will be closed noon-3pm, and Madison Avenue between 23rd Street & 26th Street will be closed 11am-6pm, for the Philippine Parade & Festival.
* Second Avenue between 23rd Street & 34th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Bellevue South Community Council Festival.
* Second Avenue between 66th Street & 88th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Second Avenue Street Fair.
* The east side of Broadway between 73rd Street & 86th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the West Side Federation of Neighborhood & Block/Broadway Mall Fest.
* The east side of Broadway between 116th Street & 120th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Riverside Church Fest.
* 37th Road between 73rd Street & 77th Street in Queens will be closed from 11am-6pm for the Queens Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival. * 37th Avenue from 89th Street to 75th Street in Queens will be closed noon-2:30pm for the Bangladesh Parade.
* Third Avenue between 149th Street & 156th Street in the Bronx will be closed 11am-6pm for the HUB Third Avenue Merchants DMA Festival.
Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s
Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
