Weekend Street Closures – April 14-15

There will be street closures on Saturday, April 14 for the following events:

  • 6th Avenue from 42nd Street to 59th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 2pm-4:30pm for the Tartan Day Parade.
  • The following streets in Brooklyn will be closed from 8am-11am for the Brooklyn Half Marathon: Formation at Coney Island Boardwalk & West 5th Street. Route: west on Boardwalk to 37th Street; turnaround on Boardwalk & head east to West 10th Street; exit Boardwalk at W. 10th Street to Surf Avenue; east on Surf Avenue to Ocean Parkway; north on Ocean Parkway to Prospect Park Expressway; Prospect Park Expressway to Park Circle; head north onto Prospect Park Southwest & enter Prospect Park at 16th Street; south on West Drive to South Lake Drive; east on South Lake Drive to East Drive around the northern end of Prospect Park; south on West Drive to Hill Drive.
  • West 4th Street between Lafayette Street & Washington Square East in Manhattan will be closed from 11am-6pm for the Delta Phi
  • Fraternity.
  • The east side of Broadway between 110th Street & 118th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11am-6pm for the Broadway Mall
  • Association Festival.
  • Greenpoint Avenue between 44th Street & 46th Street in Queens will be closed from 11am-6pm for the Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside Street Fair.

There will be street closures on Sunday, April 15 for the following events:

  • Broadway between 17th Street & 23rd Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11am-6pm for the Union Square Community Coalition
  • Festival.
  • 5th Avenue from 61st Street to 79th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 1:30pm-4:30pm for the Greek Independence Day Parade.
  • 6th Avenue from 51st Street to 54th Street and West 51st Street from 5th to 6th Avenues in Manhattan will be closed from 11:15am-11:45am for the FDNY Holy Name Society.
  • Manhattan Avenue between Greenpoint Avenue & Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn will be closed from 11am-6pm for the Greenpoint YMCA Festival.

Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
