Local media hyped the idea of a serial killer, but police said they had no suspect at this time.
Four prostitutes’ bodies were found near Oak Beach, New York, in December and a fifth unidentified victim was found not far away last week.
Then three more bodies were found Monday.
“The bodies are in the medical examiner’s office. Until they are identified we cannot link the discoveries. We only confirm that the remains of three persons have been found today,” a Suffolk county police spokesman said.
The four women whose bodies were identified in December were prostitutes who worked on the Craigslist website’s personal advertisements.
