It was yet another in a series of meetings between the 2016 WYD Organising Committee and the MFA.
The interlocutors discussed the MFA’s possible engagement in the initiative, including the promotion of the 2016 WYD in Krakow through Polish diplomatic missions abroad. Minister Grzegorz Schetyna said that the MFA wishes to help facilitate visa procedures for those who want to participate in the event.
World Youth Day is an event for young people from across the globe organised every two or three years. Its first edition took place in 1985 on the initiative of Pope John Paul II. The last World Youth Day was held in Rio de Janeiro in 2013. It was attended by 3.5m people.
