Filipczak showcases selections from her debut album Essence of Violin, including works by Witold Lutosławski, Britten, and Saint-Saëns/Ysaÿe, plus Ravel’s Violin Sonata No. 2 which she recently recorded with pianist Peter Frankl for their upcoming duo album. Cherchant, composed by Stephen Coxe and dedicated to Magdalena Filipczak, recieves its world premiere.
