It was an overall cagey affair between the two sides. Captain and striker Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring with a free kick from roughly 20-25 yards out. Poland led until the second half, when Damir Kojasevic crossed to Stefan Mugosa for a close range header in the 68th minute. Poland answered back with a fantastic chip over the keeper by Lukasz Piszczek after a fantastic pass by Piotr Zielinski.
Leading with six points, Poland faces Romania at home in June 2017 in their next qualification match.
