Stephen Mizwa’s dream to create a “living memorial to Thaddeus Kosciuszko” began in 1925 in a corner room at the Polish Consulate on a worn out typewriter and a borrowed roll top desk. Today, the Kosciuszko Foundation has offices in New York, Washington D.C., and Warsaw, along with chapters all across the United States. His vision was simple, to build an educational and cultural bridge between the two countries.
