For the first matchup, Chelsea managed to score early on with a Willian freekick before pegged back to a draw by a close-range header from Harry Kane. Chelsea scored once more through a penalty from Willian before the turn of the half. Dele Alli scored for Spurs early on in the second half to bring the scoreline level again. Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic answered back, with the latter scoring a phenomenal strike late on in the match.
Arsenal had a tougher time finishing off Manchester City as the game went into extra time. City scored first in the second half, with a close range chip from Sergio Aguero to beat Petr Cech. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade – Chamberlain crossed for Nacho Monreal for a close range finish. Arsenal managed to get the job done with Alexis Sanchez scoring from a scuffle in the box after a corner kick.
Chelsea will play Arsenal in the final at Wembley on Saturday, May 27th.
