After an extensive review of New York City’s current and future plans to protect the source of drinking water serving most of New York City, the EPA is proposing to continue allowing the City not to filter drinking water from the Catskill/Delaware system. For the first time, the FAD will cover a term of 10 years provided the City continues to ensure the excellent quality of the water from this system.
EPA Releases Draft Filtration Avoidance Determination For New York City
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region II released a draft Filtration Avoidance Determination (FAD) for New York City's Catskill/Delaware water systems.
