Pope Leo XIV, in response to journalists’ questions, referred to the situation in Iran and the Middle East. He thus recalled the message he delivered on Sunday after the Angelus prayer. He then said, “Stability and peace are not built by mutual threats or by using weapons, which sow destruction, pain, and death, but only through reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue.”

Leo XIV added last Sunday: “May diplomacy regain its role and may the good of peoples who desire peaceful coexistence based on justice be promoted. And let us continue to pray for peace.”
