Rev. Jakub Ostrożański RCI
In today’s catechesis, Leo XIV shared his reflections on his recent apostolic journey to Spain. The Pope noted the very numerous and enthusiastic reception everywhere he went, interpreting it as a testament to the faith of the Spanish people and an expression of the desire for unity, which can only be built on the foundation of Christ and His Gospel.
At the conclusion of the audience, the Holy Father expressed joy over the agreement between Iran and the United States, calling it an „encouraging result of patient efforts for dialogue and negotiation”. The Pope expressed gratitude to the countries involved in reaching the agreement and expressed hope that „it will contribute to strengthening mutual trust, security, and stability in the Middle East”.
Referring to the latest events in Ukraine, Leo XIV once again appealed for peace; he also assured his closeness to those „who mourn their loved ones, the wounded, and all who, amidst the violence, continue to courageously serve life”. The Holy Father asked the assembled faithful to pray that the Lord „may open paths of dialogue, extinguish hatred, and make a just and lasting peace possible”.
