The Holy See Press Office announced the Good Friday Way of the Cross in the Colosseum. The meditations will be published on Friday at noon.
Fr. Francesco Patton was Custos of the Holy Land from 2016-2025. In this capacity, he repeatedly informed the world about the suffering of Christians in the Middle East. Today he belongs to the Franciscan monastery on Mount Nebo in Jordan.
Last year, Pope Francis himself wrote the meditations for the Way of the Cross, having returned to St. Martha’s House after a long hospitalization at Gemelli Clinic. Francis entrusted the leadership of the service in the Colosseum to his vicar for the Roman diocese, Cardinal Baldo Reina.
