During a cordial conversation, the Holy Father extended Easter greetings, once again expressing his closeness to the Ukrainian people – reports the Press Office of the Holy See.
The two leaders also discussed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, emphasizing the urgent need to provide essential assistance to the population affected by the conflict. Efforts to support humanitarian initiatives, especially regarding the release of prisoners, were also addressed.
Finally, hope was reiterated that, thanks to the commitment and cooperation of the international community, it will be possible to end the armed conflict as soon as possible and achieve a just and lasting peace.
