Cardinal Pietro Parolin spoke about the tense international situation during a meeting in the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, organized on the occasion of the presentation of the book “Leo XIV. Who do you think I am? I am a son of St. Augustine”.
“I would tell them to end it as soon as possible, because there is truly a risk of escalation,” the Secretary of State stated in response to a question about a message to the American and Israeli authorities.
“I would tell them to leave Lebanon alone,” Cardinal Parolin added. The hierarch noted that the same appeal should also be directed to the Israelis, to “resolve problems through peaceful means, through dialogue and diplomacy.”
