Magdalena Kuźma is rapidly gaining recognition for her vibrant voice and captivating stage presence, praised for its “star quality” and “shining, lustrous” tone. This season she made her European debut as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Polish National Theater and will debut at Wolf Trap Opera as Tatyana in Eugene Onegin. An alumna of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development, she has appeared in multiple productions at the Met and debuted on the mainstage in 2023–24. Kuźma has also performed leading operatic roles and appeared in concert with major symphonies. A prizewinner of several prestigious competitions, including the George London Foundation, Jensen Foundation, and Gerda Lissner competitions, she holds degrees from The Juilliard School, Oberlin College, and Yale University, where she was valedictorian. Internationally acclaimed pianist and vocal coach Katelan Trần Terrell has been a member of the music staff at the Metropolitan Opera since 2019. Prior to joining the Metropolitan Opera full-time in 2021, Ms. Terrell served as an opera coach and collaborative piano teacher at the Opera Academy of the Grand Theatre–National Opera in Warsaw, where she continues as a guest faculty member. She has also coached internationally, including in Tokyo, Bydgoszcz, and at the Chautauqua Institution. An accomplished recitalist, she has performed at major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, The Morgan Library, and Wigmore Hall, where she and tenor Matthew Swensen won the 2019 Jean Meikle Prize for Best Duo. Ms. Terrell holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and The Juilliard School, and is a graduate of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. MORE
