Join us for Alchemy of Punk—a live punk opera and a work-in-progress extravaganza from Berlin by Polish director Aneta Panek—just for one evening at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe.
After a residency at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, Aneta Panek will bring together the voices of classical opera, punk and industrial rock in an explosive spectacle, melting together theatrical and musical experience, video installation and live performance. The Berlin workshop presentation featured the soprano star Simone Kermes, along with underground diva Mona Mur and the legend of industrial music En Esch (exKMFDM), as well as other great luminaries. With surprise New York guests and artists from Watermill’s residency program.
