Bavarian-style pork knuckle. Fresh pork knuckle marinated in a brine with beer and spices, slow-baked and topped with a thick layer of caramelized onions. Available daily in the hot foods section, but it sells out fast, so it is best to come early.
House-made bratwurst. A German-style scalded pork sausage, seasoned with marjoram, nutmeg, ginger, and paprika. A nice change from smoked Polish sausage, equally delicious grilled or baked in the oven.
Pierogi with sausage and sauerkraut. Returning to the store. The filling consists of our house-smoked sausage, sauerkraut, garlic, and spices.
Bologna. Finely ground pork cold cut with white pepper and nutmeg, free from fillers, artificial flavors, and colorings.
Zbójnik cheese. A new imported item: Polish cheese slow-smoked over natural alder wood smoke, featuring a distinctive dark brown rind.
Pulaski Day Parade and Tent Sale
On Sunday, October 4, 2026, the 89th Pulaski Day Parade will march down Fifth Avenue in New York City. Polish-American delegations from across the tri-state area will celebrate 250 years of United States independence this year. The Grand Marshal is Dr. Iwona Korga, President and Executive Director of the Józef Piłsudski Institute of America.
Red and white accessories for the parade can be purchased the day before. On Saturday, October 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a large tent sale will take place in front of the store at 800 River Dr. in Garfield: t-shirts, sweaters, hats, scarves, flags, stickers, and more.
