Polish American Congress Members Honored

November 14, 2008

The Orchard Lake Alumni Association honored Rev. Msgr. Edward Wawerski and Anthony Matrejek at its annual Red & White Ball held on November 9th at the Polonaise Terrace in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Both are members of the Downstate N.Y. Division of the Polish American Congress.  Mr. Matrejek has been the Division's treasurer for many years and is active in several other Polonia organizations.  Msgr. Wawerski is
pastor of both St. Hedwig's Church in Floral Park and St. Ladislaus Church in Hempstead.
 
The above photo was taken as the honorees were being congratulated by Downstate N.Y. Division president Frank Milewski and Richard Brzozowski who heads the Division's Long Island Chapter.

The Orchard Lake Schools of Orchard Lake, Michigan include SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary which trains many priests who come to the United States from Poland.
