"Sometimes you have to let go" – who of us hasn't repeated this phrase to ourselves when we knew we couldn't go on or had had enough? The film "Let Go” invites us on a journey that sets us back on the right path. It’s a road movie that aims to confront us with our hierarchy of values and our relationships with those closest to us.

How often have we wasted time trying to find a good, interesting, valuable film – several or even dozens of minutes? Here’s our suggestion, along with a short review. Who knows, maybe this will become a regular feature on this platform.

Netflix’s current offerings have been gathering many positive reviews, primarily online. On Filmweb, it has over 4,000 ratings, with an impressive average score of 7.2. It is not an exaggeration.

The main character, Stella (played by Josephine Bornebusch, who also wrote and directed the film), is trying to control everything. However, the drama she faces shatters this image. Her struggle makes the whole family, already on the brink, the real main character. To save her relationships with her loved ones, she decides to go on a journey to put everything back together.

The film, at times feeding us a raw Scandinavian climate, may not always be captivating. The stark attitudes of the other characters also won't make the movie feel pleasant. But the important thing is the final effect. The transformations the family members experience create a unique, specific, happy ending. It is unique because it doesn't end with a sweet "and they lived happily ever after." Nonetheless, it’s worth watching this film because it’s also a journey into our selves.
