The Concert of Dorothy Gal, the Winner of the Prestigious 2023 ACPC Marcella Kochańska Sembrich Vocal Competition

This event will be a blend of musical excellence and captivating performances. You will have the privilege of experiencing a delightful repertoire that celebrates the beauty of music.

The concert will commence with Cinco Canciones Populares Argentinas by Alberto E. Ginastera, a collection of enchanting melodies that showcase the rich cultural heritage of Argentina. Following this, we will indulge your senses with the famous tango Júrame by Maria Grever, evoking a sense of passion and romance.

Prepare to be enthralled by the classical masterpiece Laudamus te by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a composition that eloquently captures the essence of his genius. The program will also feature the powerful and dramatic aria Ha! Dzieciatko nam umiera… by Stanislaw Moniuszko from the opera Halka, a poignant performance that will leave a lasting impression.

To further enchant you, we have a special treat —a premiere performance of Zdrowaś Mario by Andrew Schneider, the composer from Houston.

In the second half of the concert, you will be treated to rendition of Jarosław Gołembiowski's Nasz Świat (Our World) with lyrics by Tadeusz Drozda, a romantic song that will resonate deeply with your heart. Alongside these, we have prepared delightful surprises from beloved musicals, as well as a Polish Tango that will add a touch of elegance and nostalgia.

The American Council for Polish Culture has earned a distinguished reputation for introducing rising stars through our Sembrich Vocal Competition. The presence of delegates and presidents from numerous art organizations in attendance, further emphasizes the significance and caliber of this event.
