What is a will?
Simply put, a legal will is the document that transfers your assets to designated people upon your death. You can dictate who will execute your estate, who gets what, and possibly most important, who becomes the guardian of your minor children, if applicable.

Why do I need one?
If you die “intestate,” or without a will in place, someone else will decide who gets your money, possessions, and who becomes the guardian to your child. Tat someone will likely be a state ofcial who doesn’t know you or your wishes, and performs their job to the letter of the law.
