Although they had plans to continue having these large and festive gatherings, due to the increasing number of positive COVID-19 cases in NY & NJ, the Allied Neurology team felt it their obligation to protect their colleagues’ employees and practices. Therefore, they changed the original plan of holding large Legal Networking Seminars to hosting small group dinners instead. This week there was a group of 20 medical and legal professionals who met to share in discussions, a meal and drinks together.
On Thursday, rather than the planned presentation on the “Initial Comprehensive Neurological Examination as the basis for treatments provided to injured patients & subsequent documentation of causality & permanency”, the small group discussion was held. This format was well received by those attending and allowed for a sense of comradery and exchange of information. Dr. Nasiek gave a short presentation on the importance of medical documentation as well. Additionally, Dr. Nasiek remembered Attorney Kimberly Kopp who passed away on October 5. She was a friend of many and attended the last dinner in September. Kimberly was always nice and always smiling, never passing up the opportunity to be in the company of others. She will be missed by many.
Apart from the educational presentation provided, the medical and legal community alike enjoyed good food, comradery, and the space to discuss medical-legal issues with peers. This exciting response in regard to Dr. Nasiek’s initiative will allow these small legal seminars to be continued.
The next meeting is expected to be held on Thursday, October 29 with the same format of a small seminar dinner with a presentation by Dr Ravi Tikoo, neurologist.
