“Pope Francis was for me the pope of encounter with another person” – said Fr. Jakub Wyrozębski, the spiritual guardian of the group, in an interview with Vatican Radio – Vatican News. He added that observing the Holy Father, one could get the impression that without “building unnecessary distance,” he was able to have good contact with the person he met.
Pilgrims, recalling Francis, added that for them he was the “pope of the poor,” because he was able to care for the most needy, and his call for peace constantly returns to them.

The moment of visiting the Vatican Basilica became a special historical moment that closes a certain “era.” “But above all, for me, it is also a moment of personal, inner reflection on my priesthood and asking fundamental questions related to my relationship with the Lord God and also with my pastoral commitment” – added Fr. Wyrozębski. He also pointed out that for him, Pope Francis practically showed how to lead today’s pastoral ministry.
