Valentine’s Day is not only a time when lovers particularly express their mutual love, but it is also a very good moment to show affection to loved ones, as well as support for those in need, especially children. This is also the purpose of the annual charity event organized by the Children’s Smile Foundation, from which all proceeds are donated to help sick and needy children.
This year, support will be particularly shown to two beneficiaries of our Foundation: Amelia Smiertelny from Pennsylvania and Leo Hamond from Rhode Island. The money collected during the raffle, which will be held during the ball, will be donated to them.
During the event, there will also be an auction where several very attractive items will be sold. Among them will be:
- a FC Barcelona jersey with Robert Lewandowski’s autograph, donated by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, which he signed after the historic ceremony of lighting the Empire State Building in white and red colors;
- a jersey with the autograph of the “Polish Forrest Gump”, extreme runner Tomasz Sobania, who ran across the entire United States in 139 days at the turn of 2024/2025, and this year, in connection with the 250th anniversary of the founding of America, intends to run 50 marathons in 50 US states. The jersey was donated for the auction by Tomasz Sobania himself;
- boxing gloves with the autograph of heavyweight boxer Adam Kownacki donated by Oskar Orent;
- a jersey with the autograph of junior heavyweight boxer Sławomir Bohdziewicz personally donated by the boxer;
- Sławomir’s latest album “Cudowronek” with a special dedication and autograph. Album donated by the singer;
The Valentine’s Ball is also an opportunity to honor a person or institution that particularly supports the Children’s Smile Foundation. This year, the Guest of Honor at the ball will be The New York Buildings Managers’ Association, the oldest – operating since 1917 – and one of the largest organizations associating New York building managers.
In addition, world-renowned jazz saxophonist Krzysztof Medyna will perform as a guest, and DJ Marek will play for dancing.
The Valentine’s Ball will take place on Saturday, February 7, at the beautiful banquet hall Terrace On The Park (52-11 111th Street, Queens, NY 11368). This venue is located in the picturesque Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, and its windows offer a beautiful view of Manhattan and the nearby zoo.
The event starts at 7:30 PM.
