City opens warming centers for those without heat

If you have no heat in your building, call 311 and stay with friends or family if possible.

Those with no heat and no alternative place to stay may seek relief at temporary warming centers in the following locations: Bronx:

Melrose: Melrose Houses – 286 E. 156th St. (at Park Avenue) Kingsbridge/Kingsbridge Heights: Ft. Independence – 3350 Bailey Ave. (at W. 233rd Street)

Brooklyn:
Bushwick: Hope Gardens – 422 Central Ave. (at Woodbine Street)
Canarsie: Breukelen – 715 E. 105th St. (at Glenwood Road)

Manhattan:
Lower East Side: Rutgers Houses – 200 Madison St. (at Rutgers Street)
Harlem: King Towers – 2 West 115th St. (at 5th Avenue)

Queens:
Flushing: Bland Houses – 133-36 Roosevelt Ave. (at Main Street)
Jamaica: Baisley Park Houses – 116-40 Guy Brewer Blvd. (at Foch
Boulevard.)

Staten Island
West Brighton: West Brighton Houses – 230 Broadway (at Henderson Avenue)

Centers will remain open until further notice. New Yorkers are encouraged to bring clothing, bedding, bathing and sanitary supplies, special food, and pre-filled prescriptions and other medications with them to warming centers. Check on neighbors, particularly seniors and those with special needs, and do not hesitate to call for help if you see someone in need.
