The canvases vary from tranquil jade oil paints to cool blue textured with gold, bronze and mica. JBuza’s artistic evolution is not linear, but holistic: Her abstracts explore the relationship between color and light, just as her figurative works display personal struggle and experiments in composition. Whatever she is painting, she is committed, as she says, to “the conflict between texture and color as it interrelates to light.” JBuza is a Polish American who lives in New York state, where she has studied painting, printmaking and graphic design.
