Weekend Street Closures – May 26-28

Two of three lanes of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway northbound between Atlantic Avenue and Cadman Plaza West may be closed 5am-8am and one of three lanes closed 8am-10am Sunday to facilitate underdecking bridge inspection.

Mulberry Street between Broome Street and Spring Street in Manhattan will be closed Wednesday, May 23 through Sunday, June 3 11am-11:30pm weekdays and until midnight Fridays and Saturdays for the St. Anthony of Giovinazzo Feast. Mulberry Street between Broome Street and Spring Street will be closed Fridays 5pm-midnight, Saturdays 11am-midnight, and Sundays 11am-10pm, and Memorial Day 11am-10pm, for the Mulberry Street Pedestrian Mall until September 9.

The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28:
* University Place between 3rd Street & 12th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit
* Ashland Place between Lafayette Avenue and Hanson Place in Brooklyn will be closed 10am-11:30pm for the Brooklyn Academy of Music Dance Africa Festival.

The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, May 26:
* Greenpoint Avenue between 44th Street & 48th Street in Queens will be closed 11am-6pm for the Sunnyside Lions Club Street Fair.
* Third Avenue between East 6th Street and East 14th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Two Bridges Neighborhood Council Festival.
* 6th Avenue between West 14th Street and West 23rd Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Chelsea Midtown Democrats Street Fair.

The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, May 27:
* Avenue C between East 5th Street and East 12th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Losaida Street Carnival.
* 7th Avenue between West 47th Street and West 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Coalition of Italo-American Association Festival.
* The west side of Broadway between West 72nd Street and West 86th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Coalition for a Livable West Side Safe Haven Festival.
* 8th Avenue between 39th Street and 49th Street in Brooklyn will be closed 10am-6pm for the CONO Festival.
* Nostrand Avenue from Empire Boulevard to Foster Avenue in Brooklyn will be closed 1pm-6pm for the Haitian-American Carnival Association Parade.
* Sanford Avenue between Kissena Boulevard and Main Street in Queens will be closed 11am-6pm for the Queens Coalition for Political Alternatives Festival.

The following street closures are scheduled for Monday, May 28:
* Rockaway Beach Boulevard between Beach 129th Street and Beach 94th Street in Queens will be closed 11am-6pm for the Queens American Legion Memorial Day Parade.
* Broadway between Crescent Street and 47th Street in Queens will be closed 11am-6pm for the Broadway-Astoria March and Protest Festival.
* Forest Avenue between Hart Boulevard and Crystal Avenue in Staten Island will be closed 11am-6pm for the Staten Island Veterans Memorial Day Parade.
* Madison Avenue between 42nd Street & 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am-6pm for the Innovative Comm. Enterprises Festival.
* The following streets in Brooklyn will be closed 11am-1:30pm for the United War Veterans Memorial Day Parade: Formation & Start: 3rd Avenue between 86th Street & 88th Street. Route: 86th Street & 3rd Avenue (2 lanes) to Marine Avenue; Marine Avenue (2 lanes) to 4th Avenue; 4th Avenue to 101st Street. End at John Paul Jones Park, 4th Avenue & 101st Street.

Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
