There will be closures southbound on the FDR Drive from July 30 to August 12 to facilitate maintenance activity. One of three lanes from East 96th Street to East 34th Street may be closed 11pm to 5:30am weekdays, 12:01am to 6am Saturdays, and 1am to 11am Sundays. A full roadway closure will occur 1am to 5am weekdays, 2am to 7am Saturdays, and 2am to 8am Sundays. During the full roadway closures, the 3rd Avenue Bridge exit to the FDR Drive and the FDR Drive entrances at East 92nd Street, East 73rd Street and East 63rd Street will be closed. Motorists should plan alternate routes or follow posted detour along southbound 2nd Avenue.
The inbound (north side) of the Hamilton Avenue Drawbridge over the Gowanus Canal between Court Street and Smith Street in Brooklyn will be closed until September 3. Two-way traffic will be maintained on the south side of the bridge. There will be three lanes inbound, one outbound 6am to 10am weekdays, and two lanes in each direction open to traffic all other times. Motorists should expect delays and plan an alternate route.
Mulberry Street between Broome Street and Canal Street in Manhattan will be closed Friday 5pm to midnight, Saturday 11am to midnight, and Sunday 11am to 10pm for the Mulberry Street Pedestrian Mall through October 8.
116th Street between First Avenue & Third Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm Friday through Sunday for the Teatro Moderno Peurtoriqueno Fest.
The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, August 4:
* Greenwich Avenue between 6th Avenue & 7th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Federation to Preserve the Greenwich Village Waterfront Fest
* 7th Avenue between 47th Street & 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) Festival
* Jamaica Avenue between Parsons Boulevard and 169th Street Boardwalk in Queens will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Jamaica Arts & Music Summer Fest (JAMS)
The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, August 5:
* Bayard Street between Elizabeth Street & Baxter Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Asian Americans For Equality Festival
* The following streets in Manhattan will be closed from 6:45am to 11am for the NYC Half Marathon: Several Loops inside Central Park; exit Central Park at 7th Avenue; south on 7th Avenue to 42nd Street; west on 42nd Street to West Side Highway; south on West Side Highway to Battery Place
* Avenue of the Americas (6th Avenue) between 47th Street & 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Avenue of the Americas Association Festival
* Columbus Avenue between 66th Street & 72nd Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center Festival
* 116th Street from Madison Avenue to 8th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the African-American Day Parade
* 37th Avenue from 96th Street to 114th Street in Queens will be closed 1pm to 3pm for the Queens Dominican Parade
Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
