These closures will occur from August 14 to August 25 to facilitate maintenance activity. During the full roadway closures the East 34th Street entrance will be closed. Motorists should plan alternate routes or follow posted detour along northbound 1st Avenue.
Until September 3, the inbound (north side) of the Hamilton Avenue Drawbridge over the Gowanus Canal between Court Street and Smith Street will be closed. Two-way traffic will be maintained on the south side of the bridge. There will be three lanes inbound, one outbound 6am to 10am weekdays, and two lanes in each direction open to traffic all other times. Motorists should expect delays and plan an alternate route.
One of three lanes in each direction of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway at the Kosciuszko Bridge may be closed Friday 10am to 2pm, and Saturday and Sunday 5:30am to 11:30am to facilitate NY State DOT inspection work.
Mulberry Street between Broome Street and Canal Street in Manhattan will be closed Friday 5pm to midnight, Saturday 11am to midnight, and Sunday 11am to 10pm for the Mulberry Street Pedestrian Mall until October 7.
Water Street between Broad Street and Beekman Street in Manhattan will be closed Saturday and Sunday 11am to 6pm for the Hoop-It-Up Basketball Tournament.
18th Avenue between 67th Street and 75th Street in Brooklyn will be closed August 23rd through September 2 from 11am to 6pm for the Santa Rosalia Feast.
The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, August 25:
* Bleecker Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for Our Lady of Pompei Church Festival.
* Third Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Albano Rep Club (AKA Gramercy Park Rep Club).
The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, August 26:
* Third Avenue between East 23rd Street and East 34th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Church of the Good
Shepard Festival.
* Madison Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Daytop Village Street Fair.
* Madison Avenue between East 41st Street and East 27th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Pakistan Day Parade. Madison Avenue between East 23rd Street and East 26th Street will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Pakistan Day Festival.
* Graham Avenue from Driggs Street to McCarren Park in Brooklyn will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Brooklyn Dominican Day Parade.
* Brighton Beach Avenue from Cobin Place and Brightwater Court in Brooklyn will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Brighton Neighborhood Association Jubilee.
Permits for parades, block parties, major street fairs and other public street events are issued either by NYPD or the Mayor’s Community Assistance Unit (CAU).
