Weekend Street Closures – September 22-23

DOT will construct new concrete barriers on the Grand Central Parkway along the face of the abutments for the Steinway Street Bridges over the weekend. In order to perform this work, the following ramp/lane closures and detours will be in effect from 12:01am Saturday through 5:00am Monday:

* The Grand Central Parkway eastbound entrance ramp on Astoria Boulevard South at 33rd Street will be closed. Eastbound GCP motorists will be detoured along Astoria Boulevard South for access to eastbound GCP and local streets.
* There will be three of four eastbound travel lanes open on the GCP between 35th Street and 43rd Street. There will be three of four westbound travel lanes open on the GCP between 49th Street and 35th Street.
* The Brooklyn Queens Expressway entrance ramp to westbound GCP will be closed. Northbound BQE motorists will be detoured onto Astoria Boulevard North to proceed westbound for access to the Triborough Bridge and local streets.
* The Steinway Street Bridge will remain open to two lanes of vehicular traffic in both the northbound and southbound directions.

Ridge Boulevard between 84th and 86th Street in Brooklyn will be closed Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 6pm for the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church Festival.

The 3rd Street Bridge over the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn will be closed Saturday 7am to 4pm to facilitate NYCDOT bridge maintenance.

Mulberry Street between Canal Street and East Houston Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to midnight from September 13 to September 23 for the San Gennaro Feast. Mulberry Street between Broome Street and Canal Street will be closed Friday 5pm to midnight, Saturday 11am to midnight, and Sunday 11am to 10pm for the Mulberry Street Pedestrian Mall until October 7.

The following street closures are scheduled for Saturday, September 22:
* Bleecker Street between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Village Center for Care Festival.
* 7th Avenue between West 47th and West 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Alliance of Guardian Angels Festival.
* Woodside Avenue between Roosevelt Avenue and 65th Place in Queens will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Woodside on the Move Festival.

The following street closures are scheduled for Sunday, September 23:
* West 44th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 8am to 8pm for the Broadway Show Charity Aids Fundraiser.
* Christopher Street between Greenwich Avenue and 7th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the AHRPL Festival.
* East Side of Broadway between West 116th Street and West 120th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Riverside Church Festival.
* 8th Avenue between West 42nd Street and West 57th Street in Manhattan will be closed from 11am to 6pm for the West 47th-48th
Streets Block Association.
* College Point Boulevard and MacNeil Park in Queens will be closed 8am to 11:30am for the Queens Half Marathon.
* Myrtle Avenue between Fresh Pond Road and Wyckoff Avenue in Queens will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Myrtle Avenue Bid Festival.
* Sanford Avenue between Union Street and Main Street in Queens will be closed 11am to 6pm for the Flushing Development Center Festival.
