Pac On Voting: Either Register Now or “Wait Till Next Year”

With the deadline nearing for filing voter registration applications, the Downstate N.Y. Division of the Polish American Congress stepped up its 2008 campaign to put more Polish Americans on the Board of Elections eligibility list.

The PAC’s mobile registration unit did double duty on Sunday morning by covering two ethnic parishes in the Borough of Queens.

Its first stop was at St. Josaphat’s Church in Bayside. Shown enrolling the church’s members are (from front to back) Voter Registration Committee Chairman, Chris Rybkiewicz; Bogdan Bachorowski and Zygmunt Bielski of the Polish Scouting Organization Harcerze.

Upon completion of its assignment in Bayside, the unit then proceeded to Jamaica’s St. Joseph’s parish on Sutphin Boulevard which continues to serve the remaining Polish Americans of that area.
