Senator Smith took over the Majority Leader post in January while Comptroller Thompson is finishing his term of office the end of this year. Mr. Thompson already announced his candidacy for Mayor in the coming elections this fall.
Comptroller Thompson has been holding Polish American Heritage Month observances at City Hall for several years and will host his final reception on October 20th.
