The Festival welcomes the whole community to get a taste of Polish cuisine, culture, art and will include a multitude of activities for all ages. The festival will be held on Beach 116th Street, between Rockaway Beach Blvd. and the Ocean Promenade Walkway on June 1st, 2014.
2014 will be the festival’s inaugural year, launching this annual event. Every year, the festival will be held on the first weekend of June, in celebration of International Children’s Day.
The festival will feature richly diverse programming that is intended to both engage the Polish-American population, and also entice the community to immerse themselves in Polish culture, art and food, along with the celebration of children’s welfare. In 2014, the festival is anticipated to draw 9,000-16,000 visitors on June 1st.
Festival programming will engage all ages and will include, although will not be limited to:
- Over 30 food/drink vendors and stalls
- Live music and entertainment
- Folk dance and song performances
- Jr. Miss Polonia, Rockaway talent competition
- Children’s face-painting
- Crafts for kids
- Jr. Rides and carnival attractions
