President Barack Obama has proclaim today, October 11, 2016, as General Pulaski Memorial Day, honoring, “General Pulaski’s sacrifice and the important role Polish Americans play in our country.”
General Pulaski Day is celebrated on October 11 for it was on this day in 1779 that General Pulaski succumbed to his injuries, inflicted at the siege of Savannah during the American Revolutionary War. In 2009 Pulaski received honorary US citizenship, only the seventh individual in history to be so honored.
We join in commemorating General Pulaski – a hero of two nations!
