One of the criticisms this Real Madrid had to face was that the club had easier rides to the final in recent triumphs. This season’s edition shut down that criticism. Real had to face Napoli, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Juventus to win the title. Facing the finalists from last season and the reigning German and Italian champions, Madrid had all to do to beat this impressive sides. Real’s victories were no fluke either; as they were comfortable winners across every stage in the competition.
So, does it look Madrid will slow down in the future? Probably not. Ronaldo, who is currently 32, is famous for keeping a rigorous training regime. Meanwhile, players such as Marco Asencio and Isco are pushing through the first team. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos can still play at the highest level for a couple of years due to their style of play with control and passing. David De Gea, who would be an improvement over Keylor Navas, is also rumored to come to Madrid from Manchester United. And with Madrid President Fiorentino Perez investing more in youth, Madrid will have the best for the future as well.
