The purpose of the visit involved meeting several prominent leaders such as Senate Majority Leader John J. Flanagan, Senator Patrick Gallivan, Sen. Christopher L. Jacobs, Sen. Robert G. Ortt and Assemblyman Kenneth P. Zebrowski. The visit was organized by the Polish American Congress WNY. Among discussed subjects were issues linked to education guidelines (specifically in history), relations between Poland and the U.S. and issues regarding New York State Polonia.
The Consul General was formally recognized on both floors and witnessed the promulgation of a special resolution by the New York State Senate honoring the 227th anniversary of the Polish Constitution of the 3rd of May, 1791 sponsored by Sen. Gallivan. The ceremony concluded with the Consul General being awarded the official proclamation. Senators Timothy M. Kennedy and Michael Gianaris also met with the Consul General on the floor while Sen. Kennedy addressed the Senate Chamber on the contributions of the Polish-Americans in his district.
