Trzęsiny holds a special place for pilgrims journeying through the Roztocze region, following the trail of Saint Anthony.
The benefactor of the monument is Angelika Jarosławska Sapieha, who donated this exceptional sculpture to her native land — Roztocze. The monument was crafted in Chicago, United States, by the renowned sculptor Leonard Szczur, whose works adorn the Vatican as well as some of the world’s most prestigious cathedrals and churches.
The creation of the statue took over two and a half years. The monument was crafted using the art of metalwork, ensuring its durability for generations to come. Upon completion, the sculpture embarked on a long, symbolic journey across the ocean to finally be placed in Trzęsiny — a place of deep tradition and spiritual significance.
The statue of Jesus Christ, a unique work of art, was meticulously handcrafted with the utmost precision and attention to detail. Thanks to the personal initiative and generosity of Angelika Jarosławska Sapieha, this monumental figure will now welcome the faithful and pilgrims at the threshold of the historic church in Trzęsiny, becoming a lasting symbol of faith, hope, and cultural heritage for generations to come.
