Uruguay
The Pope will depart from Rome on the morning of November 6. The first leg of his journey will be Uruguay, where he will spend two days. He will visit the capital, Montevideo, and the city of Paysandú in the western part of the country. In the capital, the Pope will meet with authorities and representatives of society, and will celebrate vespers for the clergy in the cathedral. In Paysandú, his engagements will include a meeting with the world of education and participation in a prayer vigil at the stadium. Pope Leo XIV’s stay in Uruguay will conclude on November 8 with Mass at the National Marian Shrine in Florida, near Montevideo.
Argentina
The Pope will be in Argentina from November 8 to 11. The first day of the visit is dedicated to meetings with authorities and representatives of society. On November 9, Leo XIV will remain in Buenos Aires, where a series of meetings is scheduled with residents of a care home, representatives of the world of work, and religious leaders. The Pope will celebrate Mass for the general public in the square in front of the Monument to the Spaniards, and in the evening, he will take part in vespers at the cathedral alongside bishops and synodal teams.
On the second day of his visit, Leo XIV will travel to Córdoba in central Argentina. There, an open-air Mass for the general public and a meeting with the clergy are scheduled. In the evening, upon returning to Buenos Aires, the Pope will participate in a prayer vigil with young people. The following day, on the morning of November 11, before departing from Argentina, the Pope will visit the Marian shrine in Luján, where he will celebrate the Eucharist.
Peru
The longest leg of the apostolic journey to Latin America is Peru, a country where Leo XIV served as a missionary and bishop. He will be there from November 11 to 16, and the schedule for the visit is very full. On the first day, upon arrival, Leo XIV will meet exclusively with authorities and representatives of society.
The Pope will spend Thursday, November 12, in Lima. Scheduled events include a meeting with bishops, the Liturgy of the Hours with the clergy and synodal teams, as well as participation in a meeting dedicated to the future of Peru and an evening prayer vigil with young people.
The following day, Leo XIV will travel to Chiclayo, the city where he was bishop. He will celebrate Mass for the general public there. Meetings with the clergy and the academic community are also scheduled, as well as a shared dinner with the priests of the diocese.
On November 14, also in Chiclayo, the Pope will crown the image of Mary Immaculate in the cathedral. Afterwards, he will visit the town of Santa Cruz de Succhabamba, where he will celebrate Mass for the general public. Upon returning to Chiclayo, Leo XIV will take part in a prayer gathering marking the jubilee year of St. Turibius of Mogrovejo.
The following day, the Pope will bid farewell to his former diocese and fly to the Andean city of Cusco, located at an altitude of 3,326 meters above sea level. There, he will participate in an event dedicated to popular piety. Afterwards, he will fly to Pucallpa, a city located in the Amazon basin, where he will meet with missionaries and representatives of indigenous peoples, and celebrate Mass for the general public. In the evening, he will return to Lima.
On the final day of the apostolic journey, the Pope will meet with residents of a care home in the capital and celebrate an open-air Mass at the Las Palmas Air Base. He will depart from Peru at 1:45 PM. The Holy Father is expected to arrive back in Rome the following day, November 17, at 10:25 AM.
