Monsignor Joseph Grimaldi, Vicar General, accepted the Most Donations Award on behalf of the Diocese. The recognition highlighted the Diocese’s commitment to supporting the New York Blood Center through parish blood drives held throughout 2025.
“We have a long history in the Diocese of Brooklyn of giving blood to help others in need, and we thank the New York Blood Center for this great honor. It is a great way to truly, truly help other people and put our faith in action,” said Monsignor Joseph Grimaldi.
In 2025, a total of 3,232 blood donations were collected through multiple blood drives held at 59 parishes, potentially helping nearly 9,700 patients in need of lifesaving blood.
The following parishes in Brooklyn and Queens were top contributors to last year’s campaign and all reached more than 150 donations.

- Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament – 155 Donations/2 Drives

- St. Sebastian’s – 229 Donations/3 Drives
- St. Margaret’s – 240 Donations/4 Drives
