Leader among Catholic media
In the first half of 2026, the @VaticanNewsPL profile on Facebook achieved 1.8 million reactions (likes, comments, and shares) and took first place among Catholic media in Poland.
Additionally, the fanpage of the Polish section of Vatican News has already reached over 72 million views this year.
“This is not only a source of satisfaction for us, but above all a confirmation that we are striving to fulfill well the mission we carry out for the Holy Father and the entire universal Church,” says Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik, head of the Polish section of Vatican media, which includes Vatican News, Vatican Radio, and L’Osservatore Romano.
A billion views, media cooperation
In an editorial addressed to readers and recipients, Fr. Rytel-Andrianik wrote that this mission is to inform as fully, reliably, and quickly as possible about the teaching and activities of the Holy Father, as well as about the activities of the Holy See and the universal Church.
Last year, materials prepared by the Polish section of Vatican News had a billion views – both on its own channels and through approximately 150 media partners with whom the Polish section of Vatican News cooperates. “We are grateful for this cooperation and for the fact that our partners also contribute to further disseminating materials about the Holy Father’s activities,” says Fr. Rytel-Andrianik.
On the website itself vaticannews.va/pl reach has recently increased approximately sevenfold. The reach of Vatican News Polski’s social media channels has also increased several times.
“This year, we signed a cooperation agreement with 11 regional stations of Polish Radio, which joined the group of recipients,” adds the head of the Polish section of Vatican News. This means that over 60 radio stations in Poland – both Catholic and secular – receive the Vatican Radio daily news and audio news every day.
“We treat all newsrooms cooperating with us as partners, not as competition,” emphasizes Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik. “We provide them with reliable, first-hand information from the Vatican in the form of texts, audio, and video recordings on an ongoing basis.
Beyond our own channels
The Polish section of Vatican News creates and makes available free audiobooks in Polish of newly published documents by Leo XIV – on the day of their publication – such as the exhortation Dilexi te, or the encyclical Magnifica humanitas, and also broadcasts live in Polish papal Masses, audiences, and prayers.
These materials are also placed on the websites of parishes and church institutions in Poland via a video widget.
Polish editorial office – a model
Thanks to these achievements, in 2025, the Polish language joined the group of the Vatican’s main communication languages – alongside Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese.
“We are pleased, because the management of Vatican Media emphasizes that the Polish section of Vatican News has become a model section in the Dicastery for Communication,” adds Fr. Rytel-Andrianik.
Reliable transmission of the Holy Father’s words
For tirelessly conveying the Holy Father’s message of peace, we were awarded the Benemerenti prize in 2026, granted by the Military Ordinariate of the Polish Army.
“What may be most important – in a media world where distortions or even manipulations often occur, Vatican News provides a reliable, true, and complete message concerning the Holy Father, his statements, actions, as well as a message concerning the Holy See and the universal Church. Therefore, it is worth looking for information on these topics precisely on the Vatican News portal and social media,” adds Fr. Paweł Rytel-Andrianik.
