Last night, the Russians launched 74 ballistic missiles and about 500 drones. It was one of the most severe attacks on the Ukrainian capital.
Residential buildings were deliberately attacked
According to the Nuncio in Kyiv, speaking to Vatican Radio, “Russia has already carried out hundreds and thousands of bombardments of Ukrainian cities, but every attack, including the one last night, means more destroyed lives.” He notes that most of the destroyed residential buildings were hit by missiles as a result of direct, i.e., deliberate strikes. These were therefore not side effects caused by a missile being shot down.
I prayed for Russia’s conversion
Archbishop Kulbokas personally visited the destroyed buildings. As he emphasized, “they are still full of people trapped under the rubble. I prayed for the victims and the rescuers. I also prayed for Russia, that the Lord would grant it the grace of conversion from war to peace.”
