This is important information for pilgrims. As announced by the Communication Office of the Fabric of Saint Peter, the institution responsible for the Basilica, from June 1, 2026, the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican will operate under a new daily opening schedule.

The Basilica will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Plan to arrive earlier

However, the last entry for pilgrims will be possible until 7:15 PM, depending on the number of visitors and the estimated waiting time for security checks. The aim is to ensure that everyone has a moment for prayer and reflection and can visit the more important areas of the temple after entering.

For this reason, the Fabric of Saint Peter encourages all visitors to plan their arrival sufficiently in advance to be able to visit the Basilica calmly and comfortably.
