The Polish Institute of Culture and Research at Orchard Lake (PICROL) invites you to a unique chamber concert, which will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The performance by the Casa Piano Quartet on the eve of Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the passionate music of the Romantic era.
Concert Program
The audience will hear three emotional works performed by musicians from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and pianist Kazimierz Brzozowski:
- Robert Schumann – Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47: A lyrical masterpiece from 1842, dedicated to the composer’s wife, Clara.
- Gustav Mahler – Piano Quartet in A minor: A dark, youthful work by 16-year-old Mahler, known from films such as Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island.
- Władysław Żeleński – Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 61: A late-Romantic treasure of Polish music from the early 20th century, recently rediscovered and valued for its dramaticism.
