The news of the fire was reported by the missionary agency Fides. It occurred yesterday at 3 AM. The perpetrators set fire to archives stored in the sacristy.

Despite the rapid intervention of firefighters, who took action to control the fire and prevent its spread to neighboring buildings, the damage is enormous.

The flames caused significant damage to the church, including the tabernacle and some sacred objects. Two cars belonging to the parish were also set on fire.

Nigeria is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for Christians. Every year, several thousand followers of Christ die there for their faith. The main causes of persecution are growing Islamism and crime.
