Wojciech Rogacin – Vatican

On the occasion of the anniversary of the Tgcom24 news channel, part of the Mediaset media group, the Pope expressed words of appreciation for the service the channel provides to information.

Building bridges of dialogue

The Holy Father encouraged journalists, in times marked by shouting in the media network, to build bridges of dialogue and promote a narrative ‘that is not limited to the surface of events, but can look with respect, solidarity, and compassion at the peripheries of suffering.’

‘The search for truth must always go hand in hand with a deep sense of ethical responsibility, counteracting the spread of fake news and promoting a culture of encounter that unites the different souls of our society,’ the Pope stated.

Media as a tool for peace

Leo XIV added that information, when free and respectful of human dignity, becomes ‘a powerful tool for building a community of readers and listeners striving towards a disarmed and lasting peace.’

The Holy Father entrusted the work of the channel’s journalists to the care of St. Francis de Sales.
