Pope Leo XIV’s telephone conversation with Israeli President Isaac Herzog took place on Friday morning, April 3, on the occasion of the upcoming Easter holidays.
According to the Holy See Press Office, during the conversation, the necessity of reopening all possible channels of diplomatic dialogue was emphasized to put an end to the ongoing serious conflict, with the aim of achieving a just and lasting peace throughout the Middle East.
Further in the conversation, attention was drawn to the importance of protecting civilians and promoting respect for international and humanitarian law.
