On Saturday, April 18, 2026, one of the most interesting Polish boxers in America, Sławomir Bohdziewicz, will step into the ring at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. Record: 7 wins, zero losses, six of them by knockout. Cruiserweight (junior heavyweight). Promoter: CES Boxing, the oldest and most respected promotional group on the East Coast. For the Polish community in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey, this is an opportunity to see one of their own in the ring — and to show that Poles always stand by their own.

Who is Bohdziewicz

Sławomir Bohdziewicz was born on August 16, 1990, in Poland. He lives in Stamford, Connecticut, where he works as a personal trainer at the Heavy Hitting Boxing club and trains under local coaches. He entered the professional ring on April 22, 2023 — and from his first fight, he left no doubt about his intentions. His debut at Mohegan Sun Arena ended with a third-round knockout against Max da Silva. “I know my Polish fans will come and support me. I won’t let them down,” he said after his debut.

Since then, Bohdziewicz has won seven fights in a row — six by knockout. CES Boxing, founded in 1992 by Jimmy Burchfield, has promoted names like Vinny Paz, Jamaine Ortiz, and Mariusz Wach (another Polish heavyweight who fought Wladimir Klitschko). Bohdziewicz is part of this tradition — and with each fight, he gets closer to the moment when promoters will start thinking of him more seriously than just a “promising Pole from Connecticut.”

Cruiserweight category — untapped territory

Bohdziewicz fights in the cruiserweight division (up to 200 pounds / 90.7 kg) — a category that is relatively untapped in American boxing. Heavyweight and super heavyweight divisions are dominated by big names. Cruiserweight is a territory where a skilled, tough, disciplined fighter with good knockout power can make a quick career — and that is exactly Bohdziewicz’s profile. Six knockouts in seven fights is a power indicator that attracts the attention of matchmakers.

April 18 — Hartford

The CES Boxing gala at the Connecticut Convention Center is another chance for Bohdziewicz to maintain his streak and get closer to fighting for regional titles. But it’s also an opportunity for the Polish community — Connecticut has a strong Polish community, especially around New Britain, Bridgeport, and Stamford. Hartford is within driving distance of New York (two hours), New Jersey (two and a half), and Boston (one and a half).
