In June 2026, she will play eleven concerts in the United States — from Boston to Denver, via Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and Washington. For the Polish diaspora, she has prepared a special discount code: POLAND — 20% off tickets.

Why you should know about her

Smolarek started playing guitar at the age of eight when her parents enrolled her in music school. Now she plays a handmade Luigi Locatto guitar, is a Savarez artist, and collects reviews that other guitarists can only dream of.

“A breathtaking guitarist with wonderful interpretations,” wrote Six String Journal. German Guitar Magazine added that her playing is “extremely precise, yet lyrical and emotionally captivating.” Classical Guitar Magazine summed it up briefly: “She was excellent.”

On her previous tour — on the West Coast at the end of 2025 — Poles appeared at every concert. Some came not because they listened to classical music, but because they saw a Polish name on the poster. Smolarek wrote to us: “I really wanted to somehow give back to the people who come to my concerts, often not even being classical music lovers, but simply because they saw a Polish name.” Hence the code POLAND — 20% discount.

What you will hear

The program is a journey through Spain and Latin America on guitar — Scarlatti, Paganini (Caprice No. 24 for solo guitar — yes, that Paganini), Tedesco, Tárrega with a fantasy on Verdi’s “La Traviata,” Turina, Barrios, and Brouwer. Seventy-five minutes without intermission. Those who know classical music know what’s happening here. Those who don’t will discover that classical guitar can take you to a place you didn’t know existed.

A few words from us

It’s not often that a Polish artist with over twenty international awards writes to a Polish diaspora editorial office herself, asking to publicize her concerts — and incidentally arranges a discount for her compatriots. Kasia Smolarek could play exclusively in philharmonic halls and festivals, without looking towards the Polish diaspora. Instead, she seeks out Poles in America and says: “Come, this is for you.” This is not obvious and is worth appreciating.

If you are in Boston, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Washington, or Denver in June — go. You don’t have to be an expert in classical music. It’s enough if you like to watch someone do something really well.
